You don't have to fail in order to learn the lessons. Successful people does not get there simply by knowing what to do, but they also know what to avoid. According to the book, here are the 10 greatest mistakes that people made in job-interviews.



  1. Going after large organizations only (Example: Fortune 500.
  2. Hunting the jobs all by yourself for places to visit.
  3. Doing no homework on a company before stepping in the room.
  4. Allowing the Human Resources department to interview you (their primary responsibility is to look for reasons to screen you OUT).
  5. Setting no time limit when you first begin the interview, and the overstaying your welcome. 
  6. Letting your resume be the only agenda discussed during the job-interview. 
  7. Talking primarily about yourself throughout the interview, and what benefit the job will be for you.
  8. Failing to give example of the skills you claim you have.
  9. Approaching the employers as if you are begging for the job, hoping that they will offer you any kind of job, however humble. 
  10. Not sending a thank-you note right after the interview
